Welcome to HHH Ranch!

Supporting People & Animals In Their Time of Need

In the heart of Manhattan, IL, a 501(c)(3) sanctuary awaits, dedicated to the healing of both people and animals. Here, individuals facing physical and mental challenges discover newfound confidence through engaging riding lessons, enriching farmer classes, and transformative camps designed to uplift and empower.

At HHH, we extend our mission of healing and hope to animals in distress, utilizing rehabilitated rescue horses to facilitate our programs. Our influence stretches beyond the confines of the pasture, as we actively engage with the community, allowing everyone to witness the soothing presence of our animals. Come and be a part of this journey, where serenity fosters compassion and kindness flourishes!

Our amazing pony Charlie is fighting the odds at the moment!

Charlie had a ruptured colon that adhered to his bladder and saved his life, however it now nearly killed him.

He began to colic on February 3rd. When the vet arrived he had 0/4 gut sounds and over 5 liters of reflux fluid when we tubed him before we administered liquid into him. To give reference it is a true medical emergency when a 1,200 horse has 4 liters of reflux fluid.  Charlie is only 500 lbs and had over 5 liters of fluid!!

We tried treating him  at the hospital first and saw that he had eaten limestone. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise as if we hadn't done the surgery to remove the limestone, they would have never found the rupture and the decaying tissue. He had a full colon resection taking out roughly 70% of his colon.

Had we not done the surgery and hadn't found the rupture he would have had a 0% chance of survival. During surgery they called to inform us that because of the adhesions they felt he had a 10-25% chance of making it through the surgery. The odds were considered just as grave when we he needed to wake up. They feared his blood pressure rising would cause him to bleed out internally.

However, he is our true miracle unicorn and is blowing every milestone out of the water! We are no longer taking it hour by hour or half a day by half a day. We are excited to announce that we are at day by day and if he keeps improving we could have him home next weekend!

Our bill is currently at $10,000. We have already raised half of what we need.

5 years ago we got Charlie off a meat truck headed for slaughter for $375. He has turned into the most magical pony. He has empowered numerous kiddos over the past 5 years and is known for giving endless kisses at the ranch.  Last week he had nearly all of his colon removed and needs our support this time!

We  are in search of a new property!

The properties we are looking at are within the Chicago land area and have a minimum of 40 acres. We cannot expand our programs without more space!

We want to offer even more events that knock down social barriers between people with and without disabilities.

With this new property we will be able to:

* Provide on site housing for adolescent girls dealing with mental health and trauma

*Space for our Adult Farmers with disabilities to learn to grow their own crops of their choosing with the end goal to obtain their own property

*More space for rescues

*Offer trail rides on site for those of all abilities

*Grow our own hay (an expense of nearly $13,000/yr)

*Have a large insulated arena to have comfortable lessons all year long

*Classroom for year round farmers classes

Exciting News.....We've Outgrown Our Space!!!!

Every child in foster care deserves a supportive community. That is why we are launching a mentorship program to develop life skills in kids who have experienced the foster care system.

Please share with potential participants and mentors.
